Fundraisers
Upper St. Clair Crew currently has several fundraisers that occur regularly. Fundraisers help to keep the team alive, and pay for things such as talented and qualified coaches, boat repair/purchase, equipment repair/purchase, boathouse rack fees, race entry fees, travel costs and many other expenses. By showing your support through our fundraisers, you ensure that USC has a strong presence in the rowing community.
We have recently purchased a new 8-man shell but have depleted our capital fund and are in need of additional shell replacements. New shells run from $25,000 and up. Your support through these fundraisers and contributions will keep the entire team on the water with enough equipment.
Crew Pies
Pies are USC Crew's main source of income. They are available for sale twice a year; once in the fall and once in the spring. Pies are $12.00 each. They are 10 inches in diameter, frozen, made with fresh fruit, and are Kosher. Pies can be stored in the freezer for up to 4 months and can be baked (from frozen) in about an hour. Flavors generally include: Caramel Apple Walnut, Dutch Apple Crisp, Cherry, Blueberry, Peach Praline, Very Berry, Blackberry, and Raspberry. Crew pies are popular enough in the community that no rower ever has trouble selling their year's quota of 75 pies. Rower's forms for pie sale orders are located on the Resources page of this web site.
Lollipops
Subsidizing our revenue, "crew pops" are very popular around the High School and Middle Schools, which is where they are generally sold. They come in a large variety of flavors and are extremely thick and long lasting; $.50 is a bargain for these sweet treats! Please email us if you would like to order them in bulk for any holiday or special occasion. They work great for Halloween! (please order at least 2 weeks in advance)
Car Washes
The team has between 2 and 4 car washes each school year. They are usually held on a Saturday or Sunday and last around 4 hours. Dates, times, and locations are typically announced at the beginning of each season.
