Interested 8th Graders and current high school students are invited to an after school field trip down to Three Rivers Rowing Association boathouse. 8th grade students will meet outside the cafeteria to wait for the bus, which will pick up at the high school at 3:45 and then Ft. Couch at 4:00 pm. Students will get to tour the boat house, receive rowing instruction and row in the training tanks, and sit in one of USC's eight-man shells on the river. Refreshments provided. Students will be returned to Ft. Couch Middle School at 8:00 pm. Parents welcome. |

The 2008 Pittsburgh Indoor Rowing Championships at Central Catholic High School.
As a team, we placed 5th overall (with 68 points) out of 17 High School teams.
--2 rowers earned a medal in their event: Steve E.(Bronze) and Matt(Silver).
--6 rowers achieved PR's (Personal Records): Kathy(12.2 sec), Abby(3.9 sec), Eric(2.3 sec), Brendon(5.1 sec), Charlie(1.2 sec), and Matt(4 sec). Additionally, those 6 rowers, along with Namita, Riyana, Ian, and Sandor, all got PR's just 3 days before the race at practice on Thursday.
